Over the past three decades, Deb and Bob have served IVCF (InterVarsity Christian Fellowship) at college campuses across North America. Deb’s involvement with IVCF began as a college student at the University of Wisconsin — Eau Claire. She served IVCF there in many capacities as a student leader. After completing her degree, Deb continued her involvement with IVCF, moving to Oregon to serve as a campus associate. Bob was involved in Christian ministry endeavours as an undergraduate, both on campus and in churches. He joined Deb in campus ministry with undergraduates in Oregon and Tennessee during the 1980s.
In 1990, Bob & Deb focused their work on graduate students and faculty at the University of Minnesota. As a result of their ministry with students and faculty in the “US Heartland”, they relocated to Lawrence, Kansas to coordinate regional efforts. From 2003-2007, they served IVCF-Canada as the National Directors of Graduate Student & Faculty Ministries. Upon their return to the US, they have served in a number of different ways, all centering around reaching graduate students & faculty, helping them as Christians on campus, and developing staff to serve them.
What is your favorite thing about Minneapolis?
It's hard to beat the fact that our son, Peter, and his family are living in the Twin Cities these days! We also enjoy the various lakes and waterways around the Twin Cities, and our many friends in the metro area.
What is your favorite food?
Being a true Wisconsonite, Deb enjoys deep-fried cheese curds (& fresh popcorn). Bob discovered Indian cuisine while working with faculty in the Twin Cities and it has been a favorite ever since.
