We are always looking for people who would love to humbly serve the Lord and the body of believers through the gift of music. Music is a vital thread woven into the ministry of First Baptist. There are opportunities for everyone to participate whether leading with the worship team, playing an instrument, providing special music, or ringing a handbell.
The Sunday morning service uses a variety of musical styles to help you worship God. We sing songs that communicate the truths of the Bible and allow you to celebrate God and what he has done in your life. Vocalists and instrumentalists are always welcome to become a part of this ministry. You can serve each week or on a monthly basis. To find out more, contact Ruthie Olmstead at 612.332.3651 ext. 22.
Instrumentalists and Vocalists
There are many opportunities for instrumentalists at First Baptist. They play before the Sunday morning service to ready people’s hearts for worship. They also play special music during the service to help people focus on God and his love. Of course, they also form the backbone of the worship band that leads our church family in singing. There are opportunities for soloists, duets, trios, quartets and octets. If you play an instrument or sing and would like to be involved in the ministry, please contact Ruthie Olmstead.
Carillon Handbell Choir
The Carillon Bell Choir is an ensemble of five-octave hand bells. They perform music that draws from a variety of styles. Each bell member plays 1-4 bells as they develop their ringing skills. The choir participates in the Sunday service once a month from September through June and performs at the Handbell Festival each June with hundreds of other hand-bell choirs from around Minnesota. Contact Ruthie Olmstead for more information.
